Forurenende stoffer i fødevarekæden

Panelet for Forurenende Stoffer i Fødevarekæden (CONTAM-panelet) giver videnskabelig rådgivning om forurenende stoffer i fødevarekæden og uønskede stoffer som f.eks. naturlige giftstoffer, mykotoksiner og restkoncentrationer af ikkegodkendte stoffer.

Medlemmerne af CONTAM-panelet er forskere fra hele Europa med ekspertise inden for:

  • Kemi – organisk, uorganisk og analytisk kemi, fødevare- og foderstofforarbejdning, hvad angår kemiske forurenende stoffer
  • Eksponeringsvurdering – ekspertise er navnlig påkrævet ved vurdering af eksponering for kemiske forurenende stoffer via kosten, herunder viden om og overblik over fødevareforbruget
  • Human og veterinær toksikologi (ved risikovurdering af kemikalier) – stoffers absorption, distribution, metabolisme, udskillelse (toksikokinetik og toksikodynamik), subkronisk og kronisk toksicitet (studier med gentagne doser), genotoksicitet og mutagenicitet, udviklings- og reproduktionstoksicitet, karcinogenicitet, allergenicitet og immuntoksicitet.
  • Toksikologiske test hos laboratoriedyr – fortolkning af toksiske effekter af kemiske forurenende stoffer hos husdyr og kæledyr
  • Epidemiologi – biomarkører for effekter og eksponering og fortolkning af humane data)
  • Statistik – vurdering af dosis/respons-effekt, f.eks. benchmarkbaseret dosismodellering og analyse af komplekse (epidemiologiske) datasæt
  • Foder – eksponeringsvurdering hos dyr.
