Kontaminanti u prehrambenom lancu

Povjerenstvo za kontaminante u prehrambenom lancu (CONTAM) daje znanstvene savjete o kontaminantima u prehrambenom lancu i nepoželjnim tvarima kao što su prirodni otrovi, mikotoksini i ostatci neodobrenih tvari.

Članovi povjerenstva za CONTAM znanstvenici su iz cijele Europe sa znanjem i iskustvom u sljedećim područjima:

  • kemija – organska, anorganska, analitička kemija, obrada hrane i hrane za životinje u području kemijskih kontaminanta
  • procjena izloženosti – potrebna je stručnost posebno za procjenu prehrambene izloženosti kemijskih kontaminanta uključujući znanje o ispitivanjima konzumacije hrane
  • ljudska i veterinarska toksikologija (u procjeni rizika od kemikalija) – apsorpcija, distribucija, metabolizam, izlučivanje (ADME) tvari (toksikokinetika i toksikodinamika), subkronična i kronična toksičnost (ispitivanja višekratnih doza), genotoksičnost i mutagenost, razvojna i reproduktivna toksičnost, karcinogenost, alergenost i imunotoksičnost
  • toksikološka ispitivanja na životinjama za pokuse – tumačenje toksičnih učinaka kemijskih kontaminanta kod životinja iz uzgoja i kućnih ljubimaca
  • epidemiologija – biomarkeri učinaka i izloženosti te tumačenje podataka o ljudima
  • statistika – procjena učinaka odnosa doze i reakcije, npr. modeliranje referentne doze i analiza složenih (epidemioloških) skupova podataka
  • hrana za životinje – procjena izloženosti životinja.
