Abstract

As a part of improving risk preparedness, EFSA organised the IV crisis simulation exercise involving the participation of a number of key stakeholders to identify the best way to deal with the consequences of a new biohazard contaminating the feed/food chain. The main aims of the exercise were to enable the EFSA to rehearse its information management and exchange, and log keeping procedures. This report reviews the simulation exercise and provides recommendations for improvement to better prepare the EFSA for responding to crises.
