Learning from the COVID-19 experience: Strengthening EU-ANSA Agencies' cooperation and preparedness to support evidence-based policymaking in times of crisis

The COVID-19 pandemic brought unprecedented changes to our society, affecting the way we live, work, shop, travel and interact. To respond quickly to the health, social and economic disruptions and protect its citizens and businesses, the European Union relied on the scientific knowledge and advice provided by its agencies. This report is based on the challenges of producing risk assessments and scientific advice under time pressure and the considerable uncertainty faced by the EU agencies that support evidence-based policymaking.
