Pre-Accession Seminar on Handling Food Crises: Tasks and Responsibilities of the Risk Assessor

The European Food Safety Authority hosted the seminar “Handling Food Crises: Tasks and Responsibilities of the Risk Assessor for the five Potential Candidate countries”.

The seminar provided a valuable platform to outline EFSA’s role in handling food crises in the EU food system, and informed about the close collaboration between EFSA and EU Member States. This seminar included presentations on EFSA’s crisis handling plan and on crisis communication management. A practical exercise was organised to test EFSA’s crisis management procedures. Experts from Member States delivered speeches on specific crises and how they had been handled by their countries’ authorities.
