Stakeholder meeting on the draft scientific opinion on re-evaluation of bisphenol A (BPA)

Event report

EFSA organised a virtual meeting with stakeholders on the draft scientific opinion on the re-evaluation of the risks to public health related to the presence of bisphenol A (BPA) in foodstuffs. The event took place on 24 January 2022, when the public consultation on the document was still ongoing. The final opinion is expected to be adopted by December 2022. 

The objectives of the meeting were to give a detailed overview of the approach taken in the safety assessment, to share the main conclusions of the draft opinion and to address questions raised by stakeholders during the meeting. 

Stakeholders were encouraged to submit comments to the public consultation for consideration by the CEP Panel as they finalise the opinion.
