Workshop: understanding food safety risk assessment

What are the main principles of chemical risk assessment? How do food consumption data support the assessment of dietary exposure in risk assessment? And how does risk communication work? These are some of the questions that were addressed at a Food Safety Risk Assessment Workshop in Podgorica, Montenegro, this week. About 30 scientific officers, risk assessors, risk managers and communication specialists from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the FYR of Macedonia, Kosovo*, Montenegro, Serbia, and Türkiye attended the three-day event.

The training was organised under EFSA’s Pre-Accession Programme and financed by the European Commission. The programme aims to promote understanding of EFSA's work, share expertise and create information exchanges.
