Dermal absorption: refined BfR template for in vitro calculations
Germany’s Federal Institute for Risk Assessment A specialised field of applied science that involves reviewing scientific data and studies in order to evaluate risks associated with certain hazards. It involves four steps: hazard identification, hazard characterisation, exposure assessment and risk characterisation (BfR) has refined the template for calculating dermal absorption for in vitro studies for pesticides. The changes took account of feedback from stakeholders during an info session on EFSA’s Guidance on dermal absorption, held in Parma on 27-28 September 2017. The revised template is now available for users together with a practical example of its use in the supporting information section of the Guidance.
