Surveillance of non‐EU Cicadomorpha, vectors of Xylella fastidiosa, in the EU: a guide for using EFSA pest survey cards

This document was prepared in the context of the EFSA mandate on plant pest surveillance (M‐2020‐0114), at the request of the European Commission. Its purpose is to guide the Member States in preparing data and information for designing risk‐based surveys of non‐EU Cicadomorpha vectors of Xylella fastidiosa regulated as Union quarantine pests. In particular, this document provides guidance on using the two EFSA pest survey cards about non‐EU leafhoppers and treehoppers and non‐EU spittlebugs. Both cards must be used together when surveying the taxa, as they are designed to enable simultaneous survey of all species and to maximise the cost‐efficiency of survey efforts. A database summarizing information relevant for surveillance is also available.
