Outcome of the Second Round of Public Consultation on the draft Guidance Document on the Risk Assessment of Plant Protection Products on Bees (Apis mellifera, Bombus spp. and solitary bees)

EFSA has performed a public consultation on the draft Guidance Document on the risk assessment of Plant Protection Products on bees (Apis mellifera, Bombus spp. and solitary bees). The draft Guidance document which was sent out for public consultation in September 2012 was intended to address the risk to bees from exposure of bees from direct contact and from oral uptake of residues in pollen and nectar. After new information became available it was possible to develop a method on how to integrate the assessment of contaminated water and metabolites. In addition the chapter on uncertainty analysis was finalised. In order to give stakeholders the opportunity to comment on these new approaches a second round of public consultation was launched. This report presents statistics on the comments received and lists all comments together with detailed answers to them. The stakeholders submitted many valuable and detailed comments, which were taken into account when finalising the Guidance Document. EFSA thanks all stakeholders for their contributions.
