Webinar on PERA – Advancing the ERA of Plant Protection Products towards a system-based approach (EUBA-EFSA-PREV-2023-01)

Background

In July 2023, EFSA launched a call for proposals to address different needs related to the Environmental Risk Assessment (ERA) of Plant Protection Products (PPP). The aim is to establish a framework for the collection and generation of data to progress on the integration of species ecology and landscape features in the risk assessment, to gain knowledge on the environmental exposure to pesticides for different application scenarios, and to identify novel strategies and tools for assessing potential pesticides effects at higher levels of biological organisation, i.e., at population and community levels, with a focus on terrestrial ecotoxicology.

The overall objective of the call is to identify partners among Member State competent bodies (i.e., organisations on the list of Article 36 of Regulation (EC) 178/2002) that can support EFSA on activities addressing the needs outlined above. The list of Article 36 organisations is available here.

Objectives of the event

The objective of the webinar was to provide an overview of the above-mentioned call for proposals.

During the webinar, participants had the possibility to ask questions in writing, using the chat function. Questions were collected and anonymised to be answered in writing and published shortly after the event. The answers will be accessible on the EU Funding & Tenders Portal.
