In the context of the new plant health Regulation (EU) 2016/2031, EU Member States are required to perform annual or multi-annual surveys of regulated pests. To support Member States in their surveillance activities, EFSA has developed a Toolkit for plant pest surveillance, which addresses survey preparation and design. This webinar will focus on the design of pest surveys following an outbreak.

The webinar will guide participants through the process of designing delimiting and buffer zone surveys in a statistically sound and risk-based framework.

This is the third webinar on the EFSA toolkit for pest surveillance, and EFSA’s contribution to the International Year of Plant Health. Video recordings and materials of the previous two webinars can be found at the following links:

  1. Toolkit for plant pest surveillance
  2. Detect your pests: practical statistical framework for risk-based surveillance

Participants may submit questions during the webinar, which EFSA will answer orally or in writing after the event. EFSA will publish a recording of the webinar on its website.

Note to participants

For technical reasons, participation is limited to a maximum of 500 participants on a first-come, first-served basis.
