2nd Ad hoc stakeholder meeting on consumer safety of feed additives containing selenium

Background

On 15 May 2025, EFSA held an online ad-hoc meeting with interested feed business representatives involved in currently ongoing and closed applications on feed additives containing selenium. Representatives from the European Commission (EC) and EFSA experts also participated to the meeting.

This was the second meeting with the stakeholders since the adoption of the EFSA opinion. The discussion focused on the limitations identified by the FEEDAP Panel regarding the deposition data available and on the data requirements for consumer safety of organic selenium. 

The meeting was organised in line with the EFSA’s catalogue on initiative for regulated products. The initiative aligns with EFSA’s commitment to engaging with its stakeholders and improving understanding of its work.
