Report on the Diagnostic Phase of the Speed of Risk Assessment Improvement Initiative

This document sets out the results of the first diagnostic phase of this strategic initiative which has focused on identifying the most impactful opportunities to reduce throughput time and defining actions which have a high probability (based on analysis of the causes of delay) of reducing the total throughput time.

EFSA was guided through this first diagnostic phase by Breakthrough Partners (a specialist strategy implementation and lean advisory company) who provided the methodology employed to identify and characterise opportunities for improvement as well as support to EFSA’s problem solving teams as they investigated the most promising of these opportunities.
