Commissioner Dalli addresses EFSA Advisory Forum in Malta

EFSA is pleased to announce that the European Commissioner for Health and Consumer Policy, John Dalli, addressed a special session of the 37th meeting of EFSA’s Advisory Forum in Malta on Wednesday, September 22. The session was opened by the Maltese Minister for Health, the Elderly and Community Care, the Hon Joe Cassar.

The Advisory Forum, which includes representatives from each Member State national food safety authority, Switzerland, Iceland and Norway, advises EFSA on scientific matters, its work programme and priorities and is at the heart of EFSA’s collaborative approach to working with Member States. EFSA’s Executive Director Catherine Geslain-Lanéelle, who was chairing the meeting, highlighted the cooperation between EFSA and the Advisory Forum in her opening address and cooperation also featured in presentations of case studies by several Advisory Forum members.

Afterwards, Commissioner Dalli and the Advisory Forum exchanged views on the issues raised.
