Annual Activity Report 2006

In 2006 the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) was in its fourth year of operation. EFSA continued to grow and establish its activities, operational procedures and structures. 2006 marked its first full year in Parma, the Authority having transferred all its activities there by the end of October 2005. 2006 offered the organisation and its staff a period of stability and a firmer basis than in previous years for further development. At the same time the policy and legislative environments within which the Authority operates continued to evolve and place further tasks on EFSA. The competences and capabilities established by the Authority since the start of its operations were built on and consolidated.
