Reputation surveys
One of the objectives of social research at EFSA is to strengthen the reputation management process through understanding of institutional partners and stakeholders. The first Reputation barometer study, finalised in 2017, was set to measure the reputation of EFSA amongst key actors across the European Union, and set a baseline for future reputation studies. Since then, these survey-based tool have been complemented by more targeted methods, such as discourse analyses of specific audiences. A second Reputation barometer study was then completed in 2020.
The publication of EFSA Strategy 2027 presented an opportunity for combining the Customer/Stakeholder Feedback Survey and the Reputation Barometer, which were used by the Authority in alternate years, into an annual study targeted at EFSA's customers, partners and stakeholders. A revised survey tool has been piloted in 2022 to allow for baseline and follow-up measurement of EFSA’s performance vis-à-vis the expectations of its ecosystem. Results of the Annual Strategy Survey study – used to compute a number of KPIs at outcome level for Strategy 2027 - will be reported through EFSA’s Annual Activity Reports.
