EFSA - EFET Joint Conference "Food safety and nutrition: from science to policy"
The Hellenic Food Authority (EFET) together with the European Food Safety Authority, will host the conference "Food safety and nutrition: from science to policy". The joint event will take place on 26 – 27 November, in Athens on the occasion of EFSA’s Advisory Forum.
The objective of the event is to discuss with Greek authorities and stakeholders food safety related topics and to look at the best ways of contributing to safer food in Europe.
A series of presentations given by EFSA and EFET focus on activities of both Authorities, such as the role of national and European authorities in food safety and nutrition, the current scientific concerns and developments with regard to biological and chemical risks as well as the role and the integration of risk assessments into the decision making processes for food safety and nutrition.
During the conference EFSA’s Executive Director, Catherine Geslain-Lanéelle, will deliver a speech and other EFSA representatives will cover issues such as the importance to communicate risk assessment and scientific collaboration.
