Webinar on EFSA Call for Tenders: Support detection of regulated EU Plant Pests

Background

The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) will held a webinar to promote its new call for tender on “Supporting the EU Member States with surveys of quarantine and protected zone pests” (Ref. EFSA/2025/OP/0026).

Objectives of the meeting

The webinar aimed to provide potential applicants and stakeholders with a clear understanding of the call’s objectives, structure, and submission process. Participants had the opportunity to learn more about the three Lots:

• Lot 1: Development and application of trapping methods for detecting insect pests
• Lot 2: Use of eDNA analyses to support early detection and surveillance of pests
• Lot 3: Application of remote sensing technologies to identify host plants and support pest detection

EFSA will addressed questions raised during the webinar related to the content of the call and the application process.

The call remains open until 26 February 2026 14:30 Europe/Rome and potential applicants are reminded that questions can still be submitted through the EU Funding and Tenders Portal, in line with the applicable deadlines indicated on the portal.
