Pre-Accession Seminar on Food Additives and Flavourings

Within the framework of the EFSA Pre-Accession Programme 2009/2010 for the Candidate countries and the Potential Candidate countries, the European Food Safety Authority organised a two-day seminar on food additives and flavourings.

The seminar brought together representatives of food authorities from Croatia, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Türkiye, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo (under UNSCR 1244), Montenegro, and Serbia.

The aim of the seminar was to present EFSA’s role in the area of risk assessment of food additives and flavourings, and to define possible common interests and areas for future collaboration. In addition, experts from Member States shared their views on this topic and emphasised the importance of a Pan-European scientific cooperation.
