Joint event: Health and nutrition claims

The Food and Veterinary Service of Latvia will host a seminar entitled Health and Nutrition Claims in Riga on October 17. The seminar will focus on challenges and issues related to health claims for foodstuffs and dietary supplements in the EU and Latvia. Wolfgang Gelbmann, from EFSA’s Nutrition Unit, will provide an overview of EFSA’s role within the evaluation procedure for health and nutrition claims and focus on collaboration with competent authorities in this area. The seminar will address the challenges facing national authorities and applicants in implementing the EU Regulation on Health Claims.
