EFSA and the Ministry of Health celebrate Europe by organising a workshop on meat inspection

On 11 May, EFSA hosted a workshop on meat inspection, organised in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Health and the Italian Focal Point.

The workshop was intended to foster the debate on the modernisation and improvement of the processes related to meat inspection in the European Union and more specifically in Italy.

Speakers addressed the role of risk assessment in assisting the efforts of EU decision-makers and Member States to modernise meat inspection processes. The event was introduced by EFSA’s Executive Director, Catherine Geslain-Lanéelle, and the Head of the Department of Veterinary Public Health, Food Safety and Collegial Organs for the Protection of Health, Romano Marabelli.
