Food Research in support to science-based regulations: challenges for producers and consumers Conference, 21 to 22 April 2009
In the context of the Czech Presidency of the European Union, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Czech Republic and the Institute of the Chemical Technology together with EFSA, are organising this high level international conference. The aim is to support the use of food research for better assessment of risks and policymaking, necessary to ensure a high level of consumer protection and food safety.
The event will gather a wide range of recognised experts and specialists from EU institutions, national food safety agencies, research institutes, international organisations and stakeholder groups in the fields of food-processing and agriculture.
Catherine Geslain-Laneélle, EFSA Executive Director, will deliver a keynote speech at the opening of the Conference, highlighting EFSA‘s contribution to the EU food safety system by providing independent, high-quality scientific advice to underpin EU food safety legislation.
