Webinar on the risk assessment of cannabidiol as a novel food
Background
On 9 February 2026, following a public consultation, the EFSA Panel on Nutrition, Novel Foods and Food Allergens (NDA) published an updated statement on the safety of cannabidiol (CBD) as a novel food.
Objectives of the meeting
The webinar aims to present the updated statement on the safety of CBD as a novel food and provide insights on its impact on the risk assessment of applications.
Structure of the meeting
The meeting will open with a welcome and introduction by the Head of Unit for Nutrition and Food Innovation, followed by presentations from EFSA CBD Task Force scientific officers and experts. Time will be dedicated to addressing questions submitted in advance via the registration form; a live Q&A session is not foreseen.

The meeting is intended for all interested stakeholders with expertise in the area of cannabidiol as a novel food.
