Abstract

The technical report on “Animal welfare risk assessment guidelines on housing and management” presents the description of the main housing and management systems for cattle, pigs, sheep, goats, laying hens, broilers, broiler breeders, turkeys, ducks and geese. The hazard identification, hazard characterisation and exposure assessment related to housing and management conditions of farm animals are also included in the report. The possible monitoring points to assess animal welfare and a risk assessment methodology for evaluating the welfare of farmed animals are also discussed.
