Ana Viloria is currently team coordinator food safety at the department of Nutrition , Health protection and Prevention of the Dutch Ministry of Public Health, Welfare and Sport. She holds this position since February 2022. She is also food safety crisis advisor to her department.

Since November 2020 she is in charge of the policy dossier microbiological food safety, hygiene and antimicrobial resistance . She is Dutch representative at the European Standing Committee on Plants, Animals, Food and Feed, section Biosafety and the working group on food crisis coordination. She represents The Netherlands at the CCFH and CAC of Codex Alimentarius as well.

Since 2005 she has been working as senior policy officer being responsible for different policy dossiers: GMO ’s, novel foods, and contaminants in food. The main focus of her work is risk management on national, European and international food safety issues.

From 2001 till 2005 she worked as a policy officer at the Department of Food Quality and Animal Health of the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality. In this period she was in charge of veterinary policy matters concerning products of animal origin (especially meat).

Ana Viloria obtained her degree in veterinary medicine in 1996 at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Zaragoza (Spain). She moved to the Netherlands in 1997, where she first worked as a veterinary inspector for the former National Inspection Service for Livestock and Meat in the Rotterdam area.
