Europe Week – Festa dell’Europa

Europe Day’ on 9 May is the anniversary of the Schuman Declaration, an important landmark in the history of the European Union (EU). To celebrate, EFSA will hold a series of events in Parma from 6-11 May under the banner of Europe Week. The programme will help to present and explain Europe, the EU food safety system and EFSA’s role to visitors of all ages

Highlights from the programme:

  • An exhibition area under Portici del Grano on Piazza Garibaldi, Parma presenting Europe, EFSA and local institutions to visitors who can quiz staff and learn more about our many activities.
  • A series of lectures under Portici del Grano on themes concerning Europe and food safety.
  • School visits to the exhibition stands for young students across the province.
  • A puppet show at Auditorium Paganini on 9 May and a prize-giving ceremony recognizing the many sporting achievements of Parma province’s schoolchildren.
  • Folk and jazz concerts in Langhirano on 6 May, in Parma at Piazza Garibaldi on 8-11 May, and at Parma’s School for Europe on 11 May.
  • Acclaimed European films at Cinema d’Azeglio in original language in the framework of The Week of European Cinema.

The event is organised by EFSA, Comune di Parma, Europass and the Province of Parma, with support from EUROPE DIRECT - Carrefour Europeo Emilia, Collegio Europeo and Scuola per L’Europa.
