Second mandate

  • On 16 December 2010, Catherine Geslain-Lanéelle’s mandate as EFSA Executive Director is renewed by the Management Board for a second five-year term, starting on 1 July 2011 and ending on 30 June 2016.
  • On 15 December, the European Parliament agrees to support the renewal of Catherine Geslain-Lanéelle’s mandate as EFSA Executive Director for a second term.
  • On 30 November Catherine Geslain-Lanéelle appears before the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety (ENVI) Committee of the European Parliament in Brussels.
  • On 16 November the College of Commissioners agrees to support the renewal of Catherine Geslain-Lanéelle’s mandate as Executive Director for a second term.
  • In June 2010, the Management Board of EFSA agrees to renew the mandate of Catherine Geslain-Lanéelle for a second five-year term as EFSA Executive Director.

First mandate

  • On 1 July 2006 Catherine Geslain-Lanéelle takes up the post as EFSA Executive Director for a five year term.
  • On 13 April 2006, EFSA Management Board, taking into account the views of the European Parliament, unanimously appoints Catherine Geslain-Lanéelle as EFSA's new Executive Director.
  • On 23 February 2006 Catherine Geslain-Lanéelle appears before the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety (ENVI) Committee of the European Parliament in Brussels.
  • Following an open competition for the post of Executive Director, on 10 February 2006, Catherine Geslain-Lanéelle is nominated by the EFSA Management Board as Executive Director of the European Food Safety Authority.
