Ad hoc meeting 3rd workshop on innovative biopesticides (BioNAS) – Semiochemical active substances as Plant Protection Products (PPP)

Background

On 11 June 2026, EFSA held an online ad hoc meeting/workshop with delegates from International Biocontrol Manufacturers Association (IBMA) to present the semiochemical-based technology for use in plant protection products (PPPs). Representatives from the European Commission (EC) and Member States (MSs) also participated to the meeting.

This workshop is part of a series that aims to create a forum where EFSA and Member State experts can meet industry representatives in relation to innovative biopesticide technologies, facilitating interaction between the parties through discussion and Q&A sessions.

The insights collected during the session are intended to support EFSA and MSs in the evaluation of dossiers/substances based on this technology.
