China International Food Safety & Quality Conference + Expo 2016

EFSA will participate at the China International Food Safety & Quality Conference + Expo 2016 in November 2016 in Shanghai, China, and co-chair the seminar “Priorities in food safety 2016-2020”.

The seminar takes place on 3 November and is jointly organised by the European Commission and EFSA. It will focus on future food safety challenges, and on implications for European and international risk assessors and managers. EFSA will give insights into areas of its work with global significance, such as its new guidance on applications for novel and traditional foods, and its contribution to global efforts to address antimicrobial resistance (AMR).

Seminar participants will also learn about planned cooperation initiatives between food safety agencies in China, the EU and international organisations, and their respective perspectives on priorities in food safety over the next couple of years.

The half-day workshop will be chaired by Bernhard Url, EFSA’s Executive Director, and Jérôme Lepeintre, member of the EU Delegation to China and Mongolia representing the area of health and food safety.
