- Reference: NP/EFSA/ALPHA/2020/09
- Budget: 55.000,00€
- Approximate launch date: 23/06/2020
- Deadline to register interest: 22/06/2020
- Background: The present negotiated procedure relates to two mandates that EFSA received from the European Commission on African swine fever (ASF). Expert assistance is requested to:
- develop a spatial explicit stochastic model to evaluate the effectiveness of the different measures applied in dedicated zones around affected areas (white zones) to stop the spread of ASF in wild boar populations; and
- to predict patterns of serological surveillance results at very low ASF virus prevalence and following virus disappearance, given a range of scenarios for virus persistence, based on the latest understandings of ASF epidemiology and observed surveillance data. The impact of the different assumptions related to ASF virus persistence on the regional spatio-temporal spread of the infection will need to be included in the analysis.
- Objectives:
- Development, validation and implementation of ASF model for Exit strategy;
- Development, validation and implementation of ASF model for evaluation of effectiveness of measures applied in white zones;
- Development of dynamic visualisation of spread and measures applied in white zones (movies).
-
Selection criteria - technical and professional capacity:
-
Requirement 1: The tenderer must have extensive and demonstrable experience in ASF modelling, epidemiology, wild boar population ecology and control
-
Requirement 2: Ability to provide these specific expertise requirements:
- 1 expert in modelling infectious diseases of at least 7 years
-
Requirement 3: Each expert individually must have an excellent level of spoken and written standard UK English. For non-native speakers, this should be demonstrated by an Official certificate of English proving a B2 level OR at least 3 years of work in an English-speaking environment.
If you are interested in this procedure please send an email within the deadline to EFSAprocurement [at] efsa.europa.eu quoting the reference of the procedure and specifying the following:
- your name/organisation’s name and address;
- whether you participate as a physical person or an organisation/private company.
