Technical Report

In September 2014, the EFSA Advisory Forum decided to reconsider the format of the network and address the issue of harmonising risk assessment methodologies by means of dedicated workshops focusing on specific issues linked to EFSA’s guidance development programme, to be identified in cooperation with the Advisory Forum. As a consequence, the annual meeting of the network initially foreseen in November 2014 was replaced by the organisation of a consultation on the terms of reference of a group of on-going or soon to be started activities, aimed at producing guidance documents related to ESFA’s overall approach to evidence-based risk assessment (Prometheus project), weight of evidence, biological relevance and uncertainty. This consultation will help the preparation of the workshop, to be held early in 2015, that will bring together Member States and relevant EU and international agencies to exchange information on recent/on-going activities in these areas and the approach being elaborated by EFSA for these guidance documents.
