The Scientific Network of Risk Assessment of Nanotechnologies in Food and Feed (the Nano Network) was establishedin 2010 by the EFSA Advisory Forum, in accordance with EFSA's strategy for cooperation and networking with Member States. This Nano Network exchanges information and expertise between EFSA and Member States. Itenhances dialogue among members, builds mutual understanding of risk assessment principles, improves knowledge and confidence in the scientific assessment carried out in the EU, and increases the transparency of the process among Member States and EFSA. The annual reports of the Nano Network inform the public, stakeholders and research communities about the specific activities and achievements of the Nano Network. In 2019, the yearly meeting was embedded in theGlobal Summit of Regulatory Science (September, Italy), where research priorities for regulatory science were discussed on a global scale with risk assessment bodies from about 30 countries. The Nano Network members attended this annual Nano Network meeting to exchange expert knowledge with risk assessors from other countries. The Nano Network members contributed to the dissemination of the EFSA guidance for risk assessment on the respective national levels. They also contributed to implementationthis guidance on particular cases in the food/feed chain. The Nano Network members were also asked regularly to disseminatescientific information and trainings from EFSA on the MS level and contribute to H2020 research projects that launched users feedback questionnaires.
