Geronimo Răducu Brănescu

Since January 2020, Geronimo Răducu Brănescu is the Executive Director of the Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Directorate – Constanta County, position that he also held between 2012 and 2016.

From 2017 to November 2019, he held the position of President – State Secretary of the Romanian National Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority, the Romanian governmental authority in charge to protect consumers’ health along the food chain, covering every stage of production from farm to fork, preventing food contaminations and promoting food hygiene and providing transparent information on food, as well as on animals’ health and welfare. In the same period, he acted as the Romanian Chief Veterinary Officer and trainer for Food Safe in Romania designated by TAIEX.

He is member of various scientific councils, President of scientific circles and involved in many specialised studies.

Dr. Brănescu graduated in 1990 at the University of Veterinary Medicine of Bucharest and obtained a PhD in veterinary science in 2007, issued by the University of Agronomical Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Bucharest. Between 1990 and 2014 he accomplished many international specializations in sanitary–veterinary and food safety areas and carried out scientific research activities.
