Jan Mousing is Managing Director and CEO for the Danish Knowledge Centre for Agriculture; a private institution providing knowledge to the Danish agricultural sector. From 2007 to 2011 he was Denmark’s Chief Veterinary Officer. Other previous positions have included: Director General for the Danish Institute for Food and Veterinary Research; Managing Director of Lattec I/S; Vice-President of Foss Electric A/S; and Chief Research Advisor at the Federation of Danish Pig Producers and Slaughterhouses.
Dr. Mousing graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Copenhagen in 1985 and he holds a PhD in Veterinary Epidemiology and Economics also from the University of Copenhagen. He has authored or co-authored more than 40 scientific papers on epidemiology, meat inspection and zoonoses. Dr. Mousing has participated in and chaired a substantial number of national and international advisory bodies covering a range of food safety and veterinary issues. From 2005 to 2007, he was a member of the Advisory Forum of EFSA.
