Workshop on research priorities to fight animal influenza

The European Commission and EFSA are holding a workshop on research priorities in animal influenza.

The workshop takes place on 8 and 9 January at the EFSA building in Parma.

Host-pathogen interactions, influenza diagnosis and surveillance, prevention and control are among the topics that will be tackled during the event. For each area, participants will identify and prioritise research needs.

Around 25 scientists and representatives from European and international organisations, together with the United States Agricultural Research Service, and the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) will take part in the workshop.

The outcome of the workshop will feed into policy developments in the context of Horizon 2020, the EU Research and Innovation Programme.
