Webinar cancellation notice
We regret to inform you that the webinar scheduled for 11 July on the explanatory note on next generation sequencing (NGS) in GMO applications is postponed until further notice. Additional fine-tuning of the explanatory note is needed before publication. Participants will subsequently require more time to familiarise with the note complementing Commission Implementing Regulation EU 503/2013 and EFSA’s guidance on the risk assessment of food and feed from GM plants.
Online registrations are now closed and will reopen closer to the newly scheduled date.
The webinar will present EFSA’s explanatory note on the use of next generation sequencing (NGS) for the molecular characterisation of GM plants in the context of GMO applications. The molecular characterisation of inserted sequences in the GM plant is part of the risk assessment performed according to the Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 503/2013 and EFSA’s guidance on the risk assessment of food and feed from GM plants (EFSA, GMO Panel 2011). With this note, EFSA provides recommendations on the information to be included in the respective dossiers when NGS is used as part of GMO applications for EU market authorisation.
The webinar addresses applicants, who intend to submit GMO applications for risk assessment by EFSA, as well as regulators and risk assessors.
During the webinar, participants may submit questions which EFSA will answer via the Q&A box. EFSA will publish a recording of the webinar on its website after the event.
Note to participants:
For technical reasons, participation is limited to a maximum of 500 participants on a first-come, first-served basis.
Registrations are temporarily closed. They will open closer to the newly scheduled webinar date.
