Recent Developments in European Food Law, 16-17 October 2008

EFSA will host this year's Academy of European law (ERA) seminar on ‘Recent Developments in European Food Law’ in Parma on 16-17 October. ERA is organising this conference which will offer an overview of legislation, case-law and ongoing policy developments, particularly on topics such as: the borderline between foodstuffs and medicinal products; information to consumers - package of measures from 2006 (Regulations 1925/2006 and 1924/2006); proposal for modernising and improving food labelling rules; modification of Regulation n. 258/97 on novel foods; consumer protection - proposal for new measures to encourage safe novel foods; state of play of the implementation of the Regulation on nutrition and health claims; proposals on pesticides; proposals on food additives, food enzymes and food flavourings.
